The iDRAC runs an embedded version of Linux. However, even if there were a monitor, I'd want more than 640x480 resolution, so the question how else would you install a Hyper-V server if not bare metal? Also, the idrac, as far as I can tell, will only pass through the host OS I see where the idrac supports resolutions up to 1280x1024, but you still only get what the OS supports.Īgain, this is not a show stopper for me, but for the rare occasion when it's necessary to access the server via idrac, it would be nice to avoid the frustration of being limited to 640x480 resolution.
